You know, I really like this quote and I try to apply it as much and as often, and a lot while traveling.
How come?
When you travel, you have pleasant and unpleasant experiences. Of course I try to make my travels as good as possible! I try to take trips with people I like, I try to stay away from pickpockets, but sometimes, well sometimes not all your friends are with you. Just sometimes, that awkward girl is with you and your friends and there is nothing you can do to stop this, sometimes you expected more from a place, sometimes the hotel / hostel room is just NOT what you hoped and payed for, sometimes you are sick, heartbroken, tired.
But when I am traveling I keep on going. I do not stop when I am tired, I stop when I am done! I try to ignore as much as I can all the noise that might come in the way of my experience, happiness and feeling of freedom.
You can enjoy your travels or you can choose to find a thousand, a million reasons not to… But you’re already there! How can you not like it?
Sometimes when I travel, ignorance is bliss because I don’t have expectations, when I know nothing about the place where I am going, when I am amazed by the landscape, people, food and the local culture.
Travels are somehow more rewarding when you have a close eye on the things you are going to do / see, eat. But not everything has to be a check on a list.
Sometimes you can just sit back and enjoy the ride.
Ignorance is bliss when traveling because there is plenty of space and things to learn and our human brain likes learning.
What am I trying to say? Just ignore the negative shit or find comfort in all the stuff that you are feeling and choose to like your trip.
Do you agree? I am sure that you have TONS of things to tell me from your trips. You know, all the downs that afterwards make your adventure a true one.
Did you get lost? Had fellows with you that you did not like, our maybe your traveling preferences were not the same? Were you sick? Were you home sick?
Now stop complaining, go out, keep your head up, enjoy the trip!
And I can give you an example: when I 1st visited Prague I wasn’t in a good mood at all. Now I look at the pictures and I can hardly remember the things I saw. I felt like I was missing out on something so this winter I went back and I was right! This city is breath taking and I could have missed it… (fortunately I didn’t).
Waiting on your thoughts!
